Life path number calculator
In numerology, your life path number is your date of birth reduced to a single digit (1–9) or to one of the master numbers 11, 22 or 33. The most common method reduces the month, day and year separately, adds them, and reduces again. For example, July 15, 1990 gives 7 + 6 (1+5) + 1 (1+9+9+0 = 19 → 10 → 1) = 14 → 5.

Numerology is a symbolic tradition, not a science. Think of the result as a prompt for reflection rather than a verdict about who you are.
Method and variations
Step 1: reduce the month, day and year each to a single digit, keeping 11, 22 and 33 if they appear. Step 2: add the three results. Step 3: reduce the total by adding its digits until you reach 1–9, or stop at 11, 22 or 33.
Some numerologists instead add all eight digits of the date in one go. Both methods usually give the same single digit, but they can disagree on whether a master number appears. We show the main method and note if the alternative gives a different answer.
Worked example
Born July 15, 1990. Month: 7. Day: 15 → 1 + 5 = 6. Year: 1990 → 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 → 1 + 9 = 10 → 1 + 0 = 1. Total: 7 + 6 + 1 = 14 → 1 + 4 = 5. Life path number 5. Adding all digits at once (1+5+0+7+1+9+9+0 = 32 → 5) gives the same result.
Questions
How do I calculate my life path number?
Reduce your birth month, day and year to single digits (keeping 11, 22 and 33), add them, and reduce the sum again. The calculator shows each step.
What are master numbers in numerology?
11, 22 and 33 are called master numbers. Most modern numerologists do not reduce them further and read them as intensified versions of 2, 4 and 6.
Which life path number is the rarest?
With the method above, 33 is the least common result. In our own count of every calendar date from 1940 to 2010, 33 came up for 0.9% of dates, 22 for 3.0% and 2 for 4.6%, while 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9 each came up for about 11%. Other methods give different shares.
Is the life path number the same as the destiny number?
No. The life path comes from your birth date. The destiny (or expression) number comes from the letters of your full name.
Can my life path number change?
No – it is fixed by your birth date. Only the calculation method can change the result, mainly for master numbers.
